After our sucess of november art markets over two sundays in holmfirth we are working on Our Satellite event with huddersfield Festival of Light. We will be running an Art Market at The Media Centre in Hudderfield on 4th and 5th dec. We will have work from 25 different superb artists. some artists will be manning their stands and other artists will show in our Gallery area.

starting from fresh

It's strange how you can get wrapped up in something so much that you are not aware of the blinding obvious. I had always wanted a shop....when I was a small girl my father made me a pink wooden shop with the words..."DEBORAH'S SHOP" lovingly painted on the front.

Well the word on the street is that Winnie's is no more but I'm not sad because I realised that my own work was beginning to suffer. I can now go back to my idea books and try things out. Plus my involvement with The Art Market keeps my appetite going.

open evening

What a lovely evening we had last night celebrating Winnies arrival at The White Rose Gallery. The coctail fountain did not disappoint and the live music with Dan Price and Neil Diffley was wonderful. Lovely customers arrived to join us and have a good mooch around. Emily Stubbs new 40's inspired spray bottles are a\must see and Wayne Markworts sculpture is a welcomed

addition.

Our next big event will be as part of the fringe exhibition during ARTWEEK where we will be featuring Mick Kirkby Geddes and Deb Price.

My Creative space

My creative space will be finished by tomorrow afternoon in time for my open evening at Winnies. My studio Space is on the second floor and and the look I'm after for it is one of an art installation.................like the installations I do with me old mate Pearl. That's another story.
I'm thinking corner of a living room....maybe. I can't explain so take photos tomorrow and post.

I had a delivery today of the most gorgeous hats for valentines in ruby and raspberry reds with little hearts....come and have a look on the l2th feb or before of course.

On friday feb l2th I will be having a relocation party at Winnies in my new premises....The White Rose Gallery on Daisy Lane. Carrie will be joining me also as she is having a sale of paintings and prints....there will be a few bargains to be had.....I've had a look.
Come along and have a glass of punch and a few nibbles.......my studio space will be open and I'm going to be exhibiting some new sculpture from various artists.
If anyone is interested in coming to some future workshops there will be information around on the night . I will be running a Deb Price workshop soon with the chance to design and make a Story brooch to take home and have a lovely lunch and earl grey tea/cupcakes throughout the day.
The cobbles is proving to be a real creative hub with A lovely silversmith opening up next door and an artist studio further up. We will be on the Artweek fringe trail this year and will have various events and workshops running throughout the year. The White Rose Gallery and Winnies are hoping for your support to lift the reputation of Holmfirth. With our events,Artweek,The Art Market,The film Festival,The Arts and Music Festival,The Folk festival and other smaller events we need to all show support and join in to celebrate the rich creative talent in the area.
The White Rose Gallery/Winnies is Holmfirth's gallery now and you just watch this space...

Valentine

getting ready for valentines weekend and a lot of making to do for Winnies. New cards,heart sculptures,framed vintage hearts and new corsages plus little love poems by shakespeare,Byron and Keats made into little scrolls with a red ribbon ricrac............who can resist ricrac...no one that's who.

workshops

I am very excited at the prospect of running some workshops from my new larger venue.My open studio is still based at Winnies Gallery but with a slight twist. The gallery has moved about 6 feet to the left and through the tunnel to The White Rose Gallery building. Carrie from The white rose and I will be sharing the space which will mean a larger space for lovely events and the chance to run workshops.
